PETER DAVIES, CCM ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR CMAA NATIONAL DIRECTOR
WATCH HILL, RHODE ISALND - June 15, 2009 - Peter C Davies, CCM, member of the New England Club Managers Association (NECMA) and General Manager/COO of The Wianno Club in Osterville (Cape Cod), Massachusetts announced his candidacy for Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) National Director 2010 at the NECMA business meeting on June 15th at The Misquamicut Club in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Davies has served as General Manager and COO of the The Wianno Club since February 2008. Prior to this appointment he served as General Manager and COO of Heritage Club in Mason, OH, from 2000 to 2008. In previous years he held various positions at Ivy Hills Country Club in Cincinnati, OH, and served as Club Manager for Four Bridges Country Club in Liberty Township, OH.
Mr. Davies has been a member of CMAA since 1997 and a member of the New England Chapter since February 2008. He was appointed to the CMAA National Board of Directors in March 2009 upon the resignation of Stephen Downes who left active club management for a related industry.
Davies currently serves as co-chairman of the Career Services Committee, and has served on national committees including the Idea Fair Committee, Chapter Member Services Committee, Premier Club Services Committee and At-Conference Election Committee as well as serving as the 2009 chairman for the Chapter of the Year Committee.
Active at the chapter level, Davies has served as Education Chairman, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President of his former chapter, the Ohio Valley Chapter. Davies has been a member of the CMAA International Wine Society since 2000. He has served as Chairman of the Greater Cincinnati Club Managers and is a member of the Board of Trustees for New Thought Unity Center in Cincinnati.
Mr. Davies resides in Barnstable, Massachusetts with his wife, Shelly. They had three children – Christian now 24 and pursuing an acting career in New York, Harker who is in 1st Grade, and Clementine who is in pre-school.
The CMAA National Directors elections will be held at the CMAA 83rd World Conference on Club Management in San Diego, California in February 2010.
